the 3rd tallest building in dallas is Chase Tower 225 m, 55-story postmodern skyscraper at 2200 Ross Avenue in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas. Although it is the fourth tallest skyscraper in the city, if one were to exclude antennas and spires, it would be the third. It is also the 12th tallest building in Texas

the living manifestation of destiny
if By Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

i always have the movies
I was in Washington the year I saw Braveheart in theaters. It was 1994 and I was attending my first filmmaking seminar. That entire experience in Washington was such a great lesson in #storytelling and the power of #filmmaking . Here in my hospital room watching Braveheart on AMC, I'm reminded of that power once more with each tech and nurse that comes in to tell me how much they love that movie and we all talk about our favorite scenes. A few folks even stayed a bit to watch. Movies are hypnotic, magical, captivating and I can't wait to get back to making them
Burglar came out in the 80's with little fanfare. It became one of the few Whoopi Goldberg movies that didnt catch on. Not the way Jumping Jack Flash did. But what appealed to me was the muder mystery storyline. A burglar who uses her skills to clear her name of a murder she didnt commit. The final dolly in where she figures out the final clue to the mystery is one of my fav reveals. I love the dolly in when its used in a correct way. The camera pushes into her face and you see she has figured out who the killer is. #filmmaking #movies

It's becoming more obvious to me that my time here at the hospital is about more than just medicine. Today I was watching Road To Perdition. Yet another nurse came in to talk about how great this movie is. And it truly is. Great performances by Tom Hanks and Paul Newman, the amazing work by the late great cinematographer Conrad L. Hall especially in that final amazing gunfight. It's not just the amazing visuals in that scene but the great use or non use of sound fx that really nail the scene. Tonight was another example of the power of movies and how they affect and inspire everyone from patients to nurses and everyone in between. This film school never ends.

robin
If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.

Oh now feel it, comin' back again Like a rollin', thunder chasing the wind Forces pullin' from The center of the earth again
Almost every single day of the year, lightning strikes the ground somewhere in the United States. Over the course of a year, lightning hits the ground in the continental US over 20 million times, and worldwide, lightning hits the ground 100 times a second, or over eight million times every day.
Occasionally, lightning strikes are positively charged rather than the usual negatively charged streak of electricity. These positively charged lightning strikes, sometimes called 'bolts from the blue', can occur near the edges of storm clouds and then strike more than ten miles from their origin. They literally seem to appear out of nowhere as they can travel long distances in clear, cloudless skies before angling down and striking the ground.

22
If you want to become whole,
let yourself be partial.
If you want to become straight,
let yourself be crooked.
If you want to become full,
let yourself be empty.
If you want to be reborn,
let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything,
give everything up.
The Master, by residing in the Tao,
sets an example for all beings.
Because he doesn't display himself,
people can see his light.
Because he has nothing to prove,
people can trust his words.
Because he doesn't know who he is,
people recognize themselves in him.
Because he has no goad in mind,
everything he does succeeds.
When the ancient Masters said,
"If you want to be given everything,
give everything up,"
they weren't using empty phrases.
Only in being lived by the Tao can you be truly yourself.
